I fell in love the moment I saw it - it has a fabulous arts and crafts feel to it and I can just imagine the girl who carefully embroidered all those brilliant designs onto the black silk

A teeny very faint smudge on the front that is pinhole size and a faint smudge on the back slightly larger - I am being pretty picky

For the Alaia collector it will never go out of style and this one has the added bonus of being in absolutely fabulous condition

The first thing that strikes you when you pick this up is that it weighs far less then you would think. You tend to think velvet will be heavy but this is a fine silk velvet fused onto silk chiffon and this allows for that feeling of lightness and movement that the dress has. Once on it is heavenly to wear. I love how she has used the curving design of the velvet
